Rethinking School Justice: A Forum on Intersectional Advocacy and School Discipline

The Henderson Center and the East Bay Community Law Center proudly invite you to Rethinking School Justice: A Forum on Intersectional Advocacy and School Discipline at Berkeley Law. 8 AM-3:45 PM. 295 Simon Hall (Warren Room), UC Berkeley School of Law. T.L. Lewis keynote at 9:15. “Justice Across Ability: Race, Disability, and the Law” panel (with Subini Annamma) at 1:45.

This forum convenes activists, artists, lawyers, and community members--including keynote lecturers Eva Paterson of the Equal Justice Society and activist Talila Lewis. We'll discuss how racial discrimination, gender discrimination, and ableism trap our most vulnerable youth in school discipline systems. We'll also explore how interdisciplinary advocacy can help students thrive. Registration is open now--go to their facebook event page. This event is free, open to the public, and ASL-interpreted.
